Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced a $207,000 grant to the University of North Dakota for continuing research on the West Nile virus.
“It is encouraging to see UND receive these resources to build on their existing efforts to mitigate a disease which threatens North Dakotans’ health and livelihood,” said Cramer. “I look forward to seeing more great progress from our researchers as they lead the way in treatment discovery.”
UND received a $2.9 million U.S. Department of Energy grant for West Nile virus research in April of 2011.
Cramer serves on the Natural Resources and Science, Space and Technology Committees.
