STATEMENT ON GRAND OPENING OF NORTHROP GRUMMAN UAS FACILITY NEAR GRAND FORKS
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement today following the grand opening of Northrop Grumman’s UAS facility located in the Grand Sky UAS Business and Aviation Park near Grand Forks:
“My congratulations and best wishes go to Northrop Grumman as they celebrate the grand opening of their new UAS facility. Through demonstrated leadership, Northrop has cemented themselves as an industry leader in UAS technology. With the expertise and essential resources readily available to them at North Dakota's Grand Sky UAS Business and Aviation Park, Northrop's new 36,000 square foot facility will undoubtedly up the ante in the UAS industry as we move towards an autonomous world.”
Located on the Grand Forks Air Force Base, the Grand Sky UAS Business and Aviation park is one of seven Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) sites approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to test autonomous aircrafts. This is the second major Northrop Grumman facility located in North Dakota. Through the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), Cramer continues working to seek federally-allocated spectrum for the use of UAS technologies.
