Cramer Visits with General Robinson, Tours Grand Forks Air Force Base
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Congressman Kevin Cramer today met privately with U.S. Air Force General Lori Robinson, head of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and Commander for U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) to stress the incredible assets available in Grand Forks and its importance to the Northern Tier. Cramer was then joined by Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp for further discussion and a tour of the base.
“Given the ongoing concerns of ICBMs and nuclear-proliferation in North Korea and Iran, the importance of Grand Forks Air Force Base for the Northern Tier cannot be overstated,” said Cramer. While this is a legacy base with legacy infrastructure, Grand Forks is best positioned for the 21st century defense due to its expertise with our Global Hawks and other modern capabilities such as the Grand Sky Technology Park.”
In a letter sent to General Robinson in May, Cramer invited the General to visit Grand Forks Air Force Base.
