Cramer Submits DOE Reauthorization Proposals to Energy & Commerce Vice-Chair Barton
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Cramer today sent a letter to House Energy and Commerce Vice-Chairman Joe Barton (R-Texas) regarding his proposals to improve the Department of Energy (DOE).
The letter and attached proposal, which in December was presented by Cramer to then president-elect Donald Trump, is being sent to Congressman Barton in response to his work on introducing a DOE reauthorization bill this fall.
“Our committee is well positioned to take a look at DOE's mission and structure and I look forward to contributing to the effort,” said Cramer. “With his background and his relationship with Secretary Perry, Joe is the perfect person to lead this charge. Among the menu of ideas, there are bound to be some gems as we deal with the reality of budget constraints and opportunities to lead the new energy economy.”
Cramer submitted the same proposal to then president-elect Trump during a meeting in New York City on December 5.
