CRAMER: STATEMENT ON UNITED NATIONS VOTE ON JERUSALEM RESOLUTION
Date: December 21, 2017
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement after the United Nations (UN) voted down President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital:
“With no surprise the UN has yet again voted contrary to the rights of the state of Israel. Israel, like any other sovereign nation, has the right to declare their capital. This month when President Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital by announcing the U.S. embassy move, we stood with Israel against their many adversaries in the region. This declaration is not subjective, we are acknowledging Israel’s capital because it is the right thing to do.”
Cramer is an original cosponsor of H.Res.671 introduced by Rep. Lamborn to express strong disapproval of today’s resolution by the UN.
