Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement on the House of Representatives’ passage of a continuing resolution including a provision defunding Obamacare.

“The House has carried out the overwhelming will of the American people by defunding Obamacare, and now the Senate must act. I have heard from countless North Dakotans who fear what Obamacare means for their family. I urge the Senate to have this debate on the floor, and vote with the House to keep the government open, control spending, and protect people from this disastrous law. If this action is going to be successful, we need the Senate to get on board.”

The resolution funds the government through December 15th while fully defunding Obamacare by prohibiting the use of mandatory or discretionary spending to carry out any portion of the law. It also includes the Full Faith and Credit Act, a bill previously passed by the House which ensures the United States government will honor its debts in the event the debt ceiling is reached.
