WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement after the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced agricultural industries will receive a 90-day compliance waiver for the electronic logging device (ELD) mandate.
“I am pleased the agriculture industry will receive another waiver as the FMCSA reviews requests,” said Cramer. “I encourage folks to continue communicating their concerns to the agency while Congress works towards a more permanent fix.”
This month Cramer signed a letter to request clarification from the FMCSA on CDL and ELD exemption requirements. The new guidelines provide an ELD and CDL exception for the transportation of horses and other animals to shows and events.
