CRAMER-CONAWAY RELATIONSHIP STRONG GOING INTO FARM BILL NEGOTIATIONS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Cramer was named a Farm Bill conferee by Speaker Ryan yesterday to have a direct role in shaping the final legislation. He garnered the support of Speaker Ryan and House Agriculture Committee Chairman Mike Conaway for his expertise in agriculture policy.

“Kevin Cramer knows what North Dakota farmers need in the farm bill and he has my ear,” said Chairman Conaway. “I asked the Speaker to put Kevin on the conference committee that will iron out the final farm bill because I rely on Kevin for his counsel on the needs of Midwest farmers.”

Cramer and Conaway have a close working relationship. Cramer said, “I appreciate Chairman Conaway’s support and look forward to my involvement across the board on one of the most important bills for North Dakota.”  

Tomorrow Cramer is hosting a roundtable in Mandan to gather input from the agriculture community.
