Congressman Kevin Cramer (R-ND) Praises USDA Rural Development Loan to the South Central Regional Water District
Washington, DC - Today the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development announced their approval of a $1,285,000 loan to the Emmons, Logan, and McIntosh County service area project, an effort by the South Central Regional Water District to provide clean water to the citizens of South Central North Dakota. These funds, accompanied by a grant from the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District’s Municipal, Rural and Industrial Water Supply Program, will help complete Phase IV of the project. Upon completion, which will involve 315 miles of pipe, a storage tank, and a booster pump station, Phase IV will have the capacity of providing clean water to an additional 230 rural customers.
“I am happy to hear that the South Central Regional Water District now possesses the means to provide clean, and reliable, water to more of our rural residents.” said Congressman Kevin Cramer. “This use of our State’s Missouri River water is an opportune demonstration of cooperation between the public and their government.”
Congressman Kevin Cramer serves on both the Natural Resources and Science, Space and Technology Committees, including the Indian and Alaska Native Affairs Natural Resources Subcommittee.
