Congressman Kevin Cramer (R-ND) Praises Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Investment Award
Washington, DC- Today, the Economic Development Administration announced an Investment Award for a south central community in North Dakota. Charles W. Murphy, Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, is the recipient of the award named “American Indian/Alaska Native Planning,” for $43,650. This Award seeks to establish an economic development planning framework, process, and strategy supporting private capital investment and job creation in the community of Sioux County, North Dakota.
Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement:
“I am pleased the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe was granted $43, 650 as an Investment Award from the Economic Development Administration, a bureau of the Department of Commerce today. This comprehensive economic development strategy will be key in bringing together both public and private sectors in order to spur job growth and economic development in the region. This grant will also serve as a component and investment model for the Sioux County community.”
Congressman Kevin Cramer (R-ND) serves on the House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs, a subcommittee of the House Committee on Natural Resources. The Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs oversees all matters regarding Native Americans and their communities.
