WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement today after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Gov. Rick Perry as Secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy: “First of all, my congratulations to Governor Perry who I think is an excellent choice – it’s too bad it took this long to get him confirmed. He’ll do a great job because he has incredible experience managing a massive bureaucracy as the Governor of Texas. Obviously, he clearly understands energy and energy policy, and perhaps most importantly, how good research and development can actually bring environmental improvements while at the same time saving our energy industry. Again, congratulations to him. I’m grateful the Senate finally got around to confirming him, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement today after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Dr. Ben Carson as Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development: “I had the great pleasure of getting to know Dr. Carson through the campaign and throughout the fall. I can’t think of a person better prepared to head up the Housing and Urban Development than Dr. Carson. He’s always the smartest person in the room no matter who the audience includes. He grew up, as you know, in poverty and understands the challenges of inner city as well as rural – which are in many cases similar in terms of the opportunity to have access to capital and the things that are important to providing the types of infrastructure that our families need throughout our country. Congratulations to him. I’m grateful he finally got confirmed and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Mobile Office Hours allow constituents to receive assistance with casework from the Congressman’s staff. “Many issues are raised through various forms of contact with me and my offices. Having members of my staff in Northwood and Larimore allows more time for those with concerns and questions to explore solutions with people in a position to help,” said Cramer. “I realize it's not always easy or even possible for people to get to my district offices.
