Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Bud Cramer (Ala.-05) announced today that the House Appropriations Committee approved the Fiscal Year 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill.
Representative Cramer, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, announced that he secured $825,000 for North Alabama projects in this bill.
Among the projects approved by the Committee include:
- $275,000 for the Hudson-Alpha Institute for Biotechnology.
- $175,000 for construction of a pedestrian bridge at Huntsville Hospital.
- $75,000 for renovations and expansion of the Limestone Community Care Medical Clinic.
- $75,000 for construction of a new HEALS Dental Clinic.
Representative Cramer also announced that he and Representative Robert Aderholt (Ala.-04) together secured $225,000 for construction of Health and Science Building at the University of North Alabama.
“North Alabama is growing and it is critical that we work to continue to provide quality healthcare in our community,” said Cramer. “This funding is a step in the right direction.”
This funding now moves to the full House for consideration.
