Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Bud Cramer (D-Ala.) announced House approval of his legislation to express the sense of the House of Representatives that American small businesses are entitled to a Small Business Bill of Rights.
Cramer introduced this legislation with U.S. Representative Ric Keller (R-Fla.) in January. It states that American small businesses deserve: the right to tax relief; the right to frivolous lawsuit reforms; the right to form Associated Health Plans; the right to federal red tape relief; the right to relief from high energy costs; the right to access capital and credit; and the right to compete for government contracts.
"Small businesses are the backbone of our economy in North Alabama and across our nation," said Cramer. "I strongly believe that Congress should work with small businesses owners to make sure they have the same opportunities as larger companies to expand their business and create new jobs for our community. This resolution should serve as a blueprint for future Congressional action to help small businesses."
