Huntsville, Alabama - U.S. Representative Bud Cramer (D-Ala.) joined officials from Huntsville at the ribbon cutting of the Huntsville Transportation Hub. The state-of-the-art facility will be the home of the City of Huntsville's Parking and Public Transportation Department and the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Congressman Cramer secured federal funding for the construction of this facility.
"Today's event brings an end to a long process that has been in the making for many years now," said Cramer. "This ribbon cutting is the official opening of a beautiful facility that will integrate important pieces of Huntsville's economic success into one home. This is the culmination of a lot of people's hard work and dedication and an example of what happens when federal and local officials work together to achieve a common goal. Today, the City of Huntsville and Madison County are reaping the benefits."
The Transportation Hub will include a canopied platform for bus transfers, an indoor waiting area for passengers with restrooms and vending machines, a dispatch center, bus wash, and administrative offices.
Congressman Cramer added, "Public transportation and tourism are vital to the economic development of our community. I am pleased that we are able to improve both of these important programs."
