Hartselle, Ala. - U.S. Rep. Bud Cramer (D-Ala.) helped cut the ribbon today for Midway Manor Apartments in Hartselle. The construction of Midway Manor Apartments was made possible through the Federal HOME Program and Low Income Housing Tax Credits, as well as financing from Regions Bank,
"This is an exciting day for the Hartselle community as we cut the ribbon on this 28-unit apartment complex that will help some of our elderly family members and friends in this area," said Congressman Cramer. "Midway Manor will provide 27 members of the community with affordable housing in this convenient area of Hartselle, just a stone's throw from local churches, shopping centers, banks, and schools. The Hartselle community takes care of its elderly citizens, and I congratulate the entire team that worked hard to make these apartments a reality for Hartselle seniors. "
Midway Manor is a six story building with 28 brick units intended for low to moderate income elderly individuals. Rent for the apartments will range between $260 to $280 dollars a month per unit. The apartment complex includes a full time Resident Manager with an on site office, a community room, on site laundry facility and pavilion. Water, sewer and trash collection is also included in the cost of rent.
Midway Manor apartments is estimated to generate for the city of Hartselle and Morgan County about $6500 in Real Estate Taxes and $13,200 in water, sewer, garbage and utility revenues.
