Support Our Troops
The United States Postal Service recently sent out a press release regarding overseas Holiday mail.  This information may be helpful those who may want to mail items to the courageous men and women serving our nation overseas.  The press release includes recommended mailing dates based on economical air and surface transportation.  In addition, the release contains many useful tips on how to mail packages overseas to an APO/FPO address.  Click here to view the release.

In September 2003, the Pentagon started giving soldiers stationed in Iraq two-week leaves in the largest R & R program since the Vietnam War. The soldiers can fly to Germany or BWI (Baltimore Washington International Airport) for free, but the soldiers are responsible for flights the rest of the way to their destination.  Donate your extra miles today, and help our soldiers to get home to their families.  Visit Operation Hero Miles for more information.

Links to communicating with our troops:

Due to current mail restrictions, security precautions, and transportation restraints, the U.S. Department of Defense cannot accept items mailed to "Any Servicemember." In an effort to keep our public and our troops connected, the military has established several alternate options for communicating with service members stationed abroad.

The military asks that citizens not flood the military mail system with letters, cards and gifts. Though well intentioned, this mail can clog the system and cause unnecessary delays in military families contacting their loved ones. Please choose from the services below and send a message of support to our servicemen and women stationed abroad.

Get involved in supporting our troops:

There are things that each of us can do in our communities to support our troops stationed abroad.  Below are links to suggestions from the U.S. Department of Defense.
