BUD ON THE ISSUES - TRANSPORTATION

One of the most pressing challenges we face in North Alabama is transportation.  As our community continues to grow, adequate transportation infrastructure is a top priority for me in Congress. If we are going to continue to pursue economic development for our region and continue to create good jobs for the people of North Alabama, we must fund quality transportation projects for our state.

As a Member of the House Appropriations Committee, I have consistently been on the forefront of securing highway trust fund money for Alabama since coming to Congress. Now, as a Member of the Subcommittee that provides Transportation funding, I will continue working with other Alabama Members of Congress each year to secure additional transportation funds in the annual Transportation Appropriations Bill and urge the Alabama Department of Transportation to make sure it spends its funding on important North Alabama projects like the Memphis-to-Atlanta highway or the Southern Bypass.
